Our Aims
- We aim to improve children’s educational attainment levels. Children are encouraged to improve their learning capacity in the first instance with strategies which will help build upon their confidence. If a child is content with their home environment this will prove to have a positive effect on their learning. Through the curriculum children will be given the opportunity to undertake ‘real life’ experiences. Manor Community Primary School aims that every child achieves their full potential. We encourage and will support parents to take an active role in their children’s education. Parents have the opportunity to meet regularly with those involved in their child/ren’s education, and will be informed of their personal targets that will be pivotal in progress being made.
- We aim to improve and strengthen home school links through daily interventions and communication. The Family Support Team will engage with parents and carers and extended family to promote the school as a positive place for everyone. Through breaking down barriers and being approachable and being empathetic, the Family Support Team gain trust within the family unit. Parents are able to see the rewards of joint positive efforts and support through various initiatives and interventions and meetings.
- We aim to support parents to improve their child(rens) behaviour and attendance. Through positive engagement the Family Support Team are able to gain a better understanding of reasons for certain behaviours or poor attendance, on the back of this we hope to encourage those children into school and improve their behaviours around school and at home. We hope to do this by working closely with the family, having good strategies in place and providing regular home visits. This will then enable the school, if need be, to put in place an appropriate provision for those children that require special provision.
- We aim to facilitate engagement and work alongside a wide variety of outside agencies to improve positive and helpful life chances of all our families and those within this local community. We will work closely with families to signpost to relevant organisations or agencies and even courses. We strive to bring this community together to make it a place to be proud to live in and want to be part of.
